Building the Next Generation of Riders
Garage Cycles is exploring plans for a high school racing league designed to give students a positive, structured way to experience cycling, competition, teamwork, and personal growth.
Our vision is to create more than a race series. We want to build a community where young riders can develop confidence, improve their skills, represent their schools, and discover a lifelong passion for cycling.
Why a High School Racing League?
Cycling gives students an opportunity to challenge themselves physically and mentally while building discipline, resilience, and teamwork.
Through this initiative, we hope to:
- Introduce more students to cycling
- Create safe and organized racing opportunities
- Encourage healthy, active lifestyles
- Support school pride and team participation
- Connect students with coaches, mentors, and local cycling communities
- Make cycling more accessible to families and schools
Our Vision
We are currently developing the framework for a high school racing program that could bring together students, educators, families, local businesses, and cycling advocates.
Potential plans may include:
- School-based or regional racing teams
- Beginner-friendly and competitive race categories
- Skills clinics and training opportunities
- Equipment and safety education
- Volunteer and coaching programs
- Community-supported events
- Sponsorship opportunities for local businesses
The final format, schedule, eligibility requirements, and locations are still being developed.
Supporting Schools Through Cycling
This initiative is connected to the larger Garage Cycles mission.
Garage Cycles donates 5% of eligible eBike sales to schools, helping customers turn their purchases into direct support for education. Our high school racing vision is another way we hope to invest in students, schools, and local communities.
We believe cycling can bring people together, create new opportunities, and help students build skills that extend far beyond the course.
Help Shape the League
We would love to hear from:
- Students interested in racing
- Parents and families
- Teachers and school administrators
- Coaches and cycling mentors
- Local businesses and sponsors
- Volunteers and community organizations
Your feedback can help us understand what schools and riders need as we develop the program.
